The Education Act 2011 sets out the legislation stating that schools are required to provide independent, impartial careers guidance for their pupils in years 9-11. This should include information about the full range of post-16 options, including Apprenticeships. The resources on this page have been developed to help schools, colleges and 6th forms raise awareness and understanding of Apprenticeships. They include lesson plans, workbooks and presentations. Many schools, colleges and 6th forms in Liverpool City Region have already started taking great strides in meeting their responsibility to raise awareness of Apprenticeships. As well as the resources in this section, The Liverpool City Region Hub can support your school in a variety of additional ways:
  • Apprenticeship speakers for schools – apprentices, employers and apprenticeship providers to speak to your pupils about the benefits of Apprenticeships
  • Attendance at careers evenings
  • Delivering parent Q&A sessions
All these services are free of charge. Find out more: email or contact the Liverpool City Region Schools Support Service on 0151 707 8775.
