International Festival for Business 2014
This summer sees the first ever International Festival for Business (IFB 2014), which will be the UK’s most significant international trade and investment showcase since the 1951 Festival of Britain, and the largest concentration of business events taking place anywhere in the world this year!
Hosted in Liverpool and across the wider North of England during June and July, and underpinned by a major cultural programme, the 50-day festival will comprise well over 200 business-focused events of all shapes and sizes, and attract entrepreneurs, investors, buyers, suppliers, and trade intermediaries from 100+ countries across the globe.
The aims are to drive UK economic growth, help double UK exports to £1trillion by 2020, and generate £100+million foreign direct investment, with an explicit focus on creating new international and domestic business-to-business relationships and opportunities for UK companies, small, medium and large.
IFB 2014 and Liverpool City Region
In response to a call for projects that would create a lasting skills legacy as part of IFB 2014, Liverpool City Region’s Employment and Skills Board (www.lcrskillsforgrowth.org.uk) agreed to organise a large scale Skills Show event for local young people as part of the Festival.
With the support of The Skills Show Ltd (now known as Find a Future) under its Skills Show Experience programme, the Skills Show Experience @ the International Festival for Business 2014 was born!
The Show will highlight the job opportunities available to young people across the Liverpool City Region as well as highlighting what they can do to best fulfill their career potential.
